(01) Moisture and heat can and will damage wood finishes. Use coasters and trivets. Wipe up spills and dry with a damp cloth.

(02) Don’t drag sharp or rough objects across the furniture.

(03) Wood will expand and contract with seasonal humidity changes. Maintain a constant humidity level in your house to minimize movement and prevent warping.

(04) Air and sunlight, over time, will change the color of natural wood. Consider rotating your item occasionally.

(05) Waxed items can be treated every six months or so with a coat of Howard® Products Feed-N-Wax. Do not use furniture polish.

(06) Waxed and oiled items can be cleaned with a damp cloth as needed. Wipe dry. Do not use furniture polishes or harsh chemicals.

Our furniture is made using a beautiful high-end Baltic birch material from Columbia Forest Products®. Each of the 13 layers are solid birch, and a thick veneer in walnut or maple wraps each face in rich tones.

While many woodworkers conceal the edges of the material, we have made it our signature look to highlight the striped layers. Not only does this give a nod to the designers of the mid-century era, it makes every piece by Relic Modern a work of art, and a unique, one-of-a-kind, creation.

In addition, our high-end drawers complement the simplicity of our furniture. They are made of solid maple with dovetailed joints, soft-close under-mount drawer slides (by Blum®) and Italian-made satin gold hardware.
