Lead Times

The truth is, good furniture takes time.

Every Relic Modern™ piece is built by me, start to finish, in my Minneapolis studio — no warehouse, no assembly line. I select and mill the lumber, join, sand, and finish each piece by hand. That care takes time, but it's also why the wait exists: it's the difference between something pulled off a shelf and something built for you, by hand, meant to last generations.

Public Art

  • A set of seven curved wooden wall shelves in varying colors (from light blue to dark navy) mounted on a white wall above a light blue sofa.

    What We Set In Motion

"What We Set In Motion" is an installation in a corporate spae associated with Fairview Pharmacies. Installed in 2026, it is made of ash wood, tung oil and urethane enamel. Inspired by the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota and the rippling effect of the water, the piece creates a wave on the wall and is an abstract representation of lake with the sky above it.

"A human act once set in motion flows on forever to the great account."— George Meredith

  • Knowledge public art sculpture at Odin Apartments in Northeast Minneapolis

    Knowledge

“Knowledge” at the Odin Apartments in NE Minneapolis depicts two Nordic Runes and evokes the Norse God Odin through the cedar and steel 14' sculpture. On permanent display in NE Minneapolis.

Inspired by the Norse myth of Ódinn's (Odin) pursuit of knowledge and his willingness to sacrifice anything, even an eye, to attain it—Knowledge depicts Odin with his left eye missing.

The cedar beams are reminiscent of Viking ships and will age and gray with time. Integrated into this piece are two Nordic runes which folklore indicates may have been associated with Odin.

  • Urban Ties wall sculpture at Timber and Tie apartments

    Urban Ties

Along with colleague Remo Campopiano, Justin Hossle of Relic Modern™ installed a three-dimensional wall sculpture at the Timber & Tie apartments (NE Minneapolis) in early 2022.

42 relief cuts of a 9"x7" oak railroad tie attached to the wall with railroad spikes. Finished in oil and wax.

  • Spills Baltic birch wall art at Huxley Apartments

    Spills

The “Spill” series was selected for permanent display at the Huxley Apartments in NE Minneapolis.

Constructed of Baltic birch turned on its edge, these three paintings highlight the color scheme of the apartment complex's decor.

  • Urban Cattails cedar and steel sculptures at RYA Apartments

    Urban Cattails

Relic Modern™ and Remo Campopiano installed two cattail sculptures at the RYA Apartments in Richfield, MN in the summer of 2022.
