About this Piece
This handcrafted mid-century modern end table is the most iconic piece in the Relic Modern™ collection — the curved corners are bent from a single sheet of Baltic birch, with the layered edges left exposed as a signature detail. Call it a side table, accent table, or bedside table; the tapered legs and clean lines make it at home in a living room, lounge, den, or bedroom. The optional dovetailed maple drawer with Blum® soft-close slides turns it into a modern nightstand. This end table pairs well with the Entry Table and Cocktail Table.
The curve is the whole idea. Forty-four kerf cuts into a single sheet of 13-layer Baltic birch let the material bend into its final shape — and the result is a seamless one-piece silhouette with the layered edges left exposed as a signature detail, a nod to the designers of the mid-century era. The rounded form softens the lines of a room and makes the piece read lighter than its footprint, at home next to a sofa, at the side of a bed, or as an accent in a hallway or lounge.
Finished with a hand-rubbed oil and wax blend, the piece has a matte, warm look that enhances the natural grain of the walnut or maple.

Product FAQ

Real Furniture,Made by Real Hands
I build every piece by hand in my Minneapolis workshop — one maker, one standard, no shortcuts. While big-box stores fill warehouses with particle board and mass-produced templates, Relic Modern™ starts with real, high-quality wood and ends with something built to last. Some things are worth buying from a real person.
Mid-century modern isn't a trend — it's a discipline. Clean lines, reasonable proportions, and modest, organic shapes. At Relic Modern™, that means stripping every design down to its essential form and building it from high-quality Baltic birch with walnut or maple faces, finished with a hand-rubbed oil and wax blend that lets the wood speak for itself.
